That isn’t to say that there’s not alot going on.  Just not alot that I am willing or able to post.  My job being what it is (military communications tech), much of what happens at work stays at work.  And family issues stay with the family.

So I guess I have a case of blogger’s block.  It’s like writer’s block, but more public.

And this is me, not caring.

When I come up with something to post, I’ll post.  Until then, I’ve made no promise as to scheduling, and intend to abide by my promise >:)

As is traditional, I will make some resolutions for the new year.

• I will successfully complete NaNoWriMo next year.  This year I was pretty much entirely unprepared, and didn’t keep my family in the loop about my plans.  Sick baby didn’t help any either.  Next year, I will make sure my wife knows that I plan on NaNo’ing, and will spend some time before November creating some characters, scenery, plot, etc
• I will contribute to a FOSS project of some sort.  I used to be a professional programmer, but some of the realities of life took me away from that.  I am now in the military as a technician, working with hardware.  I would like to keep up my software skills, and would like to see the possibility of transferring to computer engineer sometime in the future.
• On a similar note, I plan to return to Linux development.  I have a half-emerged Gentoo system on my old “beater” desktop, which I will use for some Linux contributions, as well as for developing FOSS (see above).
• I will get myself into proper physical shape.  I barely passed my PT test this year, and have a history of failing them.  I intend to stop this trend.  The gym, with its attendant instructors, is available to me before and after work, and I plan to use this resource.
• I also plan to blog more often.  I’m paying for this server, I should probably get some proper use out of it.

I’m not a full-time blogger.  I am a full-time parent.  In my copious free time, I’m trying to improve myself as a computer programmer.

In just over two months, I’m going to be going back to work.  At that point, I will have less free time, but ironically I will probably have more time for blogging.

My problem is that I usually don’t have anything that I feel is worth blogging about.  However, when I go back to sea, I’ll start sailing.  At that point, I will have my travels to write about.

Of course, if I’m inconsistent, I probably won’t have much of a readership.  Honestly, I could care less.
